bent is a dialogue between two characters (the violin and the cello), which transpires over a minimalist piano ostinato. The piece opens with the call of a descending minor third in the violin and cello - the natural fall of the human voice - but slowly emerges as a more complicated colloquy. This conversation may reflect the difficult instances of conflict between individuals, or the personal conversations within one's own mind.
