Fiumana
for mezzo-soprano playing bass drum (2016, 7 min.)

note
In Fiumana, words are broken apart through an endless stutter, creating a collage of sound that imposes different meanings to these initially meaningless words. In Italian, "fiumana" roughly translates to "flood of men," which reflects the flooding waves of the singer's stuttering and the enveloping sound of the bass drum.
